Each year we host a number of school, college and community group visits and we would be delighted to welcome your group to the centre.
Below is an overview of a typical visit but we can tailor the visit to your requirements – please get in touch if you would like to discuss further.
We would also be happy to run a session at your school or college or other venue if that is more suitable for you.
What happens during your visit
Visits usually last up to two hours and will be based in the main meditation room with one of our teachers.
Activities for the visit will be tailored to the requirements of the group and can include
- The story of Buddha
- Expalnations of Buddhist beliefs and way of life
- Brief meditations
- Opportunities to see, touch and discuss traditional items.
The group will be encouraged to participate in some of these activities and to ask questions throughout their visit.
There will be a break half way though the session and drinks and biscuits will be provided in the café.
There are no special clothing restrictions, however, we do ask for visitors to remove their shoes before entering the meditation room.
In the meditation room, cushions are available for children to sit on and chairs are available for adults.
When visits can be arranged
Visits can be arranged for both during the day and in the evening with timings dependent on the schedule of events at the centre
Cost of Visit
There is no fee for visits to the centre but you can make a donation if you wish.
