"In general, prayers made by an assembly of many practitioners are very powerful and cannot be compared to the prayers of one or two people. The scriptures give the analogy of a broom. If we try to clean a floor with a few bristles we shall make little progress, but if we gather many bristles to make a broom we shall be successful."

Heart Jewel. Taking place daily (except Fridays).
These prayers are the heart practice of all Kadampa Buddhists. In them we pray to Wisdom Buddhas Je Tsongkhapa and Dorje Shugden, in order to gather the blessings necessary for success in our practice and to allay outer and inner obstacles that would otherwise hinder it. Find out more about these prayers here. These sessions will include 10 minutes silence for unguided meditation.
Note: On Saturdays we will be doing the longer version of Heart Jewel called, 'Wishfulfilling Jewel' and making special food offerings too. These prayers take about 75 minutes.
Powa - Transference of Consciousness for the recently deceased. Taking place weekly.
A special method for leading countless deceased beings to the Pure Land of a Buddha.
Through practising transference of consciousness, known as ‘powa’ with faith, compassion and concentration we can transfer the consciousness of those recently deceased to a higher rebirth or to the Pure Land of a Buddha. Click here to purchase both paper and ebook versions of these prayers.
This week's powa practice will be replaced by Heart Jewel prayers (see above). Back to normal next week.
